The first power exchange "sodium" warehouse was put into operation!

Recently, Pangu New Energy has made a new record in sodium power project, although this is only a small step for the company in this field, but it marks a big progress in the whole sodium power industry.

At the beginning of August 2024, Pangu New Energy, in cooperation with Wuxi Municipal Energy Group, successfully put into operation Jiangsu Province's first intelligent power exchange "sodium" warehouse - Liqiao Community Electric Bicycle Centralized Charging and Exchanging Station, which helps Wuxi City's construction of power exchange guarantee system. The station helps to build a power exchange security system in Wuxi City.

 

 

 

Leading in Innovation: Creating a Benchmark for Intelligent Power Exchange

The Liqiao Community Electric Bicycle Centralized Charging and Switching Station is located in the most beautiful logistics neighborhood of Heli Subdistrict, serving a number of courier companies such as China Express, Yuantong and Rhymex. The station is equipped with 4 sets of Pangu New Energy's self-developed sodium-ion switching cabinets, 1 charging pile, 1 vending machine and a supporting rest area, forming an efficiently operating switching ecosystem. The switching cabinets can provide 44 fully charged batteries at the same time to meet the daily needs of more than 80 express tricycles, significantly improving the operational efficiency of the logistics park.

 

 

 

Safe and Efficient: Sodium Power Demonstrates Superior Performance

Pangu New Energy is committed to building a safe environment for city-level low-speed electric vehicles with electricity. The power exchange mode is safer, more efficient and more convenient compared to the traditional charging mode. Sodium-ion batteries are characterized by high electrochemical stability, high thermal runaway temperature, and strong low-temperature resistance, and can maintain more than 70% of their capacity even in -40℃ environment, and reach more than 90% at -20℃, providing users with all-weather reliable protection.

The power exchange cabinet adopts multiple safety designs, including flame-retardant materials, mutual isolation of battery compartments, built-in cooling system and aerosol fire extinguishing device, etc., to ensure rapid response and risk control. The power exchange management platform enhances the safety of the power exchange process through real-time monitoring and fault prediction and warning functions.

 

 

 

Convenient Experience: Promoting Green Development of the Industry

Pangu New Energy's Smart Switching Cabinet significantly improves switching efficiency and user experience. Users can complete the battery change in less than a minute, the sensorless switching function makes the operation simple and fast, and the battery compartment opens automatically when the battery is close to the switching cabinet, so that the switching can be completed without the need to scan the code.

Sodium-ion batteries have low carbon emissions during production and use, helping to reduce the overall carbon footprint of low-speed electric vehicles. Its conversion efficiency is up to 98%, with excellent range and charging performance, reducing environmental pollution and resource consumption. The promotion of sodium-ion swap bins will promote the popularization of new energy EVs and green mobility, helping to achieve the carbon peak and carbon neutral goals.
